Oak Hill - Mrs. Jessie Margaret Berry Higginbotham, 71, of 128 Third Ave., died Wednesday at 2:55 a.m. in an Oak Hill medical center apparently of a heart attack.
Born April 11, 1913, at Fire Creek, she was a daughter of the late Marion L. and Ethel Haley Berry.
Mrs. Higginbotham was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence, Virgil, Frank and Lester Berry and a sister, Ellen Mae Burns.
Survivors include her husband, Billy W. Higginbotham; a son, Billy Wayne Higginbotham of Oak Hill; three daughters, Rose Marie Fleshman Godbey of Fayetteville, N.C., Margaret Ann Higginbotham of Oak Hill and Sharon Jean Higginbotham of Beckley; two sisters, Elsie Fleshman of Danese and Opal Adkins of Gatewood; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill and one hour prior to services.
