Miss Ida Vermont Higginbotham and Mr. Virgil H. Berry, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Berry of Fire Creek, were married Jan. 4 at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Everette R. Richmond of Thurmond.
For the ceremony, performed by Rev. W. H. Foard of Beckley, the bride chose a powder blue frock, black accessories and corsage of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. Richmond were attendants.
Young Mrs. Berry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Higginbotham of Fire Creek, is an alumna of Mt. Hope high school and is an employe of the Fayette Co. board of education. Mr. Berry served for 29 months overseas and was recently discharged from the Army.

Last Rites Set For Virgil Berry
DANESE (RNS) - Funeral services for Virgil Harrison Berry, 47, of Danese will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday (DST) in the Green Valley Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Gravely and the Rev. Thomas Akester in charge. Burial will follow in Harrah Cemetery on Backus Mountain.
Berry died Monday at his home. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
The body was to be removed, from Wallace and Wallace Funeral home in East Rainelle to the residence at 11 a.m. today and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral.
