Leroy Marshall Walkup, 73, of Crawley passed Friday, January 31, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center after a hard fought battle.
He was the son of Ray and Margie Hunter Walkup.
He worked as a Union Journeyman Carpenter; Coalminer for Union Coal Mine; State Road Bridge Inspector; Superintendant for Davis H. Elliot; and a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Steven Walkup.
He is survived by his lady friend, Melanie "Toby Baby" Garner; daughter, Rushell Walkup of Crawley; sons, James (Lesley) Vines of Hinton; and Marshall (Jillian) Walkup of Asbury; brothers, Dennis (Mary Lee) Walkup of Kansas, Curtis (Donna) Walkup of Virginia; grandchildren, Rebecca Vines, Hannah Walkup, Jennings Walkup, Steve Walkup, Rachel Walkup, and one on the way; 3 great-grandchildren – one on the way.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, February 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Taylor officiating.
