WIDEN - William G. Bragg, 82, of Widen, Clay County, died Sunday in Montgomery General Hospital after a long illness.

He was a retired fanner and miner.

Surviving: wife, Dovie; daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bragg of Los Angeles, Calif., Miss Maysel Bragg of Widen; son, William O. Bragg of Gauley Bridge; stepdaughters, Mrs. Nancy Patterson of Middlebourne, Mrs. Myrtle Thompson and Mrs. Dorothy Neff of Colliers; stepsons, Paul Stump of Stephens City, Va., George Stump of Winchester, Va.

Service will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Wilson Funeral Home, Clay, with the Rev. Willard Morris officiating. The body will be taken today to the Goodwin Funeral Home, at Middlebourne where graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in Archers Chapel Cemetery in Middlebourne.

the family suggests that memorials be made to the Cancer Society.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Thelma Frances Wygal Hamblin, 84, of Columbia, formerly of Falls View, W.Va., died Feb. 22, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Mary Ann Hamblin Young of Columbia.

She was a member of Montgomery (W.Va.) Methodist Church, was instrumental in organizing and was former president of the Montgomery Pilot Club and held district office of the Ohio-Kentucky-West Virginia organization of Pilot International. She was also a member of Montgomery Women's Club, Laird Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni and the Kanawha County and West Virginia retired school employees associations. She was a registered nurse, a graduate of Coal Valley Hospital School of Nursing and did post-graduate studies at West Virginia University. She was a former employee of Laird Memorial Hospital, Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates and was a retired Kanawha County school nurse with more than 25 years' service.

Also surviving: sister, Irene Wygal Treadwell of Lansing, Mich.; brother, Ed Wygal of Oak Hill, W.Va.; grandsons, Dana Patrick Young of Charlotte, N.C., Bradley Hamblin Young of Charleston, S.C.; two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Montgomery United Methodist Church with the Rev. Cathy Jamison-Ogg and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Cemetery, Fayetteville, W.Va. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, and one hour prior to service at the church. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the residence for Murble E. Tyree, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Tyree of First avenue, South Charleston, who died early yesterday morning at the residence after an illness of three months.

The Rev. O. Smalley will officiate and burial will be in the Hughart cemetery at Legg with the Noble Long morticians in charge. The body will be removed to the home at 10 a. m. today.

Surviving besides the parents are three sisters Mildred, Mina Lee, and Maxine Peggy Tyree; five brothers, Albert, Clifford, Ray, Richard and Dale Tyree; and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hughart.

Burial will be in Lowry Cemetery at Springdale. The body will be taken from Nickell mortuary in East Rainelle to the residence at 5 p. m. Saturday. Mr. Sims died in C & 0 Hospital at Clifton Forge, Va., after a three-week illness. He was a member of Springdale Baptist Church and a farmer. Surviving are his wife, Nannie; three sons, Lewis Basil of Beckley, Joseph Lincoln of Rainelle and Winfred Arnold Sims of East Rainelle; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Martin of Charlton Heights; a half brother, Joseph Ray Sims of Flint, Mich.; a half sister, Mrs. Georgia Hilda Sanford of Rainelle; and 12 grandchildren.

Mrs. Biddie Tyree Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Biddie Ann Tyree, 51, wife of George W. Tyree of 618 Brewer Av., South Charleston, died yesterday morning in a South Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Tyree was active in several organizations, including the American Legion Auxiliary, Charleston Chapter No. 317, Women of the Moose, and the Gold Star Mothers of Charleston. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Sweeneyburg, Raleigh County.

She was born at Legg, daughter of W. M. Hughart of Charleston and the late Mrs. Nancy Thomas Hughart.

Surviving besides her husband are six sons, Ray of the Air Force, home on furlough; Clifford of the Army, Virgil of Elkview, George Harmon, Richard and Dale, all at home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Young, South Charleston, Mrs. Bill Dye, Spring Hill, the Misses Barbara and Shirley Tyree, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Young, Tuppers Creek, Mrs. Minnie Tate, RFD 5, Charleston, Mrs. Mary Waldon and Mrs. Irene Smalley, both of Charleston; three brothers, John, Venton and Romie Hughart, all of Charleston.

The body is at Long, Johnson and Fisher Mortuary chapel, where service will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Rev. O. Smalley and Rev. May Pauley will officiate. Burial will be in Hughart Cemetery on Tuppers Creek.

Surviving besides his mother are his loving wife, Dianne Marie Hayslette; one son, Jon Kristopher Hayslette and his wife, Amy of Culloden; one stepson, Allan Foster at home; one brother, George Hayslette and his wife, Ginny of Mount Lookout; one sister, Pat Hall and her husband, Harold of Mount Lookout; two grandsons, Dylan and Joseph Hayslette, both of Culloden. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dunbar, and a resident of Dunbar for 23 years. Mr. Hess was a native of Greenbrier County.

Surviving: wife, Mary Ethel Hunter Hess; son, Curtis Hess of West Chester, Ohio; daughter, Mrs. Janet Dixon of Nitro; half-brother, Richard Rose of Rupert; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
