John Matthew Simms, 91, died yesterday at his home on Simms mountain near Rainelle. He was born in Greenbrier county, the son of David and Jennie Simms.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Little Creek Baptist church. Rev. George Adams will officiate. Burial will be in charge of Wallace & Wallace mortuary of East Rainelle.

Surviving are three sons, Henry of Layland, W. D. of Rainelle and B. O. of Simms Mountain; three daughters, Mrs. Donnie Wiggins, Meadow Bridge; Mrs. Jennie Fox, Victor, and Miss Bertie Simms, Ceredo.

Aliff of Matthews, N.C.; three grandchildren. The body has been donated to the West Virginia University Medical Center. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at St. Marks United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Godwin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Marks Altar Society. Slate Falls; Greenbrier Man Killed

RICHWOOD - A Greenbrier County miner died in an accident at the Donegan Coal and Coke Co. mine near here Tuesday.

Jesse James Redden, a machine operator, was killed in a slate fall. Another man, Darrell Copen, 19, of Crichton, was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital here for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. He was reported in good condition.

REDDEN, 31, was a resident of East Rainelle. He was a member of Grandview Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Zada; two daughters, Jeannie and Joyce Ann, at home; one son, James Richard Redden, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Redden of Coal City.

Born Nov. 13, 1896, in Spring Dale, she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Minnie Fleshman Lowry.

She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Huntington and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Nannie Simms of Huntington, and three brothers, Elmer F. of Ashton, Conrod C. of Columbus, Ohio, and Charlie Lowry of South Charleston.

Tyree, both of Beckley; one half sister, Mrs. Estelle Sowder of Beckley.

Service will be in Sweeneyburg Church at 2 p.m. Monday.

Rev. Jones of East Beckley will officiate. Burial will be in Hoskins Cemetery near Sweeneyburg under direction of Tyree Mortuary of Oak Hill.

VICTOR, May 1 - Warren Tom Fox, 79, died Monday night at his home in this Fayette County town. He was a farmer, member of the Methodist church and a native of nearby Ansted.

Surviving are one son, Naoman Fox of Victor; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Fox and Mrs. Navada Nutter, both of Victor; one brother, Walter Fox of Gatewood; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hess of South Charleston and Mrs. Virgie Maddie of Handley; and Mrs. Lulu Hawkins of Ansted.

Service will be at Mt. Airy Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Mt. Airy under direction of Tyree Mortuary Oak Hill.

MIAMI, Fla., Aug. 21 - (Special) - McKlewee Nickell, 88, of 2270 S. W., 24 Terrace, a former resident of Charleston, W.Va., and retired merchant, died here Tuesday in a hospital after an extended illness.

A native of Russellville, Greenbrier County, W.Va., he formerly owned and operated a business establishment at Lookout, Fayette County, W.Va.

He has resided here for the past several years, moving here from Charleston. He is a member of the Lutheran Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Luke Berry of Miami; and two sons, Charles of Lookout; and Sonnie of Huntington, W.Va.

The body is at the Philbreck Mortuary here and will be taken Thursday to the Degnan-Kittinger Mortuary in South Charleston, W.Va.

LOOKOUT - Funeral services are to be conducted in South Charleston Sunday afternoon for M. K. Nickell, 88, former Lookout resident.

He died Tuesday evening in Miami, Fla.

The 2 p. m. services will be conducted in the chapel of the Scales Funeral Home in South Charleston.

He is survived by two sons, C. M. Nickell, of Fayetteville and S. H. Nickell, of Huntington; one daughter, Mrs. L. W. Burry, of Miami, Fla.

Nickell was born and reared in Fayette County but had lived in Florida for the past four years. He was a merchant at Lookout for a number of years.
