RAY JENNINGS HUNTER, 78, OF KIEFFER, died Oct. 28, 1993, in Williamsburg after a short illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kieffer and a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Kieffer. He was a self-employed logger. Chas. A. Hanna Dies Of Accident Injuries

Charles A. Hanna, of 327 Spring St., St. Albans, 37-year-old employee of the Westvaco plant, who was struck by a car Aug. 16 on MacCorkle Av. near 17th St. in South Charleston, died last night in a local hospital.

South Charleston Police Chief H. A. Master said he expected a manslaughter charge to be brought against Ernest Salisbury of St. Albans, the driver of the car which struck Hanna.

Hanna was hit while crossing the avenue to the plant where he was employed.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathryn Hanna; his mother, Mrs. Fannie Hanna; a daughter, Betty, at home; one brother, Glen of St. Albans; and one sister, Eva Hanna, also of St. Albans.

Mr. Hanna was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics.

Rev. J. W. Nida and Rev. J. R. Taylor will conduct funeral service at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the St. Albans Church of God.

Burial will follow in Williamsburg cemetery. The Bartlett funeral home at St. Albans will be in charge of all arrangements.

Dr. Amick Dies; Rite Is Saturday

LEWISBURG ? Dr. Andrew E. Amick, owner and operator of Greenbrier Pharmacy at Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, died Thursday.

Mr. Amick, 76, of Lewisburg, died in Greenbrier Valley Hospital in Ronceverte.

A resident of Lewisburg 25 years, he was a World War I veteran and a member of Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg.

Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Kathryn A. Walden of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Ann Hampton of Lewisburg; five grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m Saturday at Old Stone Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Jones and the Rev. T. W. Apperson officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg. The body will be taken to the church an hour before the service.

Joint Rite Slated for 2 Car Victims

CORLISS - Joint service will be here Tuesday for a former Greenbrier County mother and her 14-year - old son who were fatally injured about 8:50 p.m. Friday in a three-car accident at Oakdale, Va.

Mrs. Alberta Shawver, 34, of Verona, Va., formerly of Corliss, died en route to Roanoke Hospital after receiving initial treatment at a hospital in Clifton Forge, Va. The youth, David, died soon after the accident in a Clifton Forge Hospital. The father and two other children are patients in two Virginia hospitals.

Virginia State Police said the Shawvers were en route to Corliss to visit the husband's parents when the accident occurred. They said a car struck the Shawver vehicle in the rear, knocking it into the path of a truck.

The husband, Alva, is in C&O Hospital at Clifton Forge. The daughter, Becky, 16, and six-year-old Jeffery, are patients at Roanoke Hospital.

Other survivors of Mrs. Shawver include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holliday of Rt. 60, Rainelle; sisters, Mrs. Francis Shaffer of Charleston, Mrs. Betty Anderson, Mrs. Barbara Hall, both of Rt. 60, Rainelle; Mrs. Hope Dunbar, Mrs. Pamela Townsend, both of Alexandria, Va., Debbie and Janet, both at home; brother, Harold of Washington, D.C.

The service will be at 2 p.m. at Minnie Bell Baptist Church. Burial will be in Shawver Cemetery. The bodies will be returned to Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home in East Rainelle.

400-Pound Man, Rupert Resident, Dies on Birthday

RONCEVERTE - A 400-pound Greenbrier County man died on his 40th birthday Wednesday en route to Greenbrier Valley Hospital here.

Van Buren (Fats) Robinson, of Rupert, died from a heart attack. His wife quoted his doctor as saying his weight was responsible for the heart condition.

He was a mined employeed by the Lafayette Coal Co. at Duo, and a member of the UMW.

Surviving are his wife, Macel; two sons, Harold and Teddy at home; a daughter, Thelma at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie W. Robinson, of Duo; and two brothers, Worthy of Duo and Willard of Cloverdale, Calif.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Nickell mortuary chapel at East Rainelle with Rev. Elbert Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Rainelle Cemetery. The body is at the mortuary.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Finney of Arcadia, Cal. to Lt. Nye Goble Rodes, Jr., USMC, son of Mrs. N. G. Rodes of Logan. Chaplain R. M. Schwyhart officiated in the Ranch House Chapel at Camp Pendleton,
Oceanside, Cal. and a reception was held in the Santa Margarita Naval Officers Club.

The couple's attendants were Mrs. Ernest Drury, Miss Lenora Rodes, sister of the bridegroom, and Lt. C. R. Stephenson.

Lt. and Mrs. Rodes, who are stationed at Camp Pendleton, are living at 506 South Strand, Oceanside. She attended Long Beach City College and was graduated from the Knapp College of Nursing in Santa
Barbara.

An alumnus of Logan High School, Lt. Rodes was graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1947, studied at the Marine Officers' Training School and was stationed in China for two years.
