In the name of God, Amen. I, Samuel Brailsford, now living at number seven Murray Street in the City of New York, Merchant, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say: First, it is my will that my Funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid and discharged. Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my much loved natural daughter, Frances, the wife of James Plant, the leasehold houses and lot with the appurtenances thereunto belonging where I now reside, and likewise all my real and personal estate in the United States of America which I may be entitled to at the time of my death. I also give and bequeath unto my said daughter, Frances, the reversion of a copyhold estate lying at or near Mansfield Woodhouse in the County of Nottingham in England which was surrendered to me by my Father and Mother in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two in the copyhold court at Mansfield at their death. And I do hereby appoint the said James Plant Executor and my said daughter, Frances, Executrix of this, my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made in witness. Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight.

Signed, sealed, published, and declared by the testator as and for his last Will and Testament, and the presence of us, who, at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto: William Chevers, James Byrne, Thomas Waring.

Be it remembered that on the twenty-seventh day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight, personally came and appeared before David Gelston, surrogate of said county. William Chevers, James Byrne, and Thomas Wearing all of the said City and being duly sworn on their oaths, declared that they saw Samuel Brailsford sign and seal and instrument in writing purporting to be the Will of the said Samuel Brailsford bearing date the twenty eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight (the preceding whereof is a true copy) and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament, that at the time thereof he, the said Samuel Brailsford, was of sound disposing mind and the memory, to the best of the knowledge and belief of them, the deponents, and that their names subscribed as witnesses to the said will are of their own proper hands writing which they respectively subscribed as witnesses thereto in the Testator's presence.           David Gelston
The people of the state of New York, by the grace of God, free and independent to all to whom these presents shall come, or may concern, send greeting. Know Ye that at the City and County of New York, on the day of the date hereof, before David Gelston, Esq., surrogate of our said County, the Last Will and Testament of Samuel Brailsford, deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved, and is now approved and allowed by us, and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death, goods, chattels, or credits, within this State by means whereof the proving and registering of the said Will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits and also the auditing, allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us, the administration of all and singular, the goods, chattels, and credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his Will is granted unto James Plant, the Executor in the said Will named, he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels, and credits and also to tender a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the Seal of Office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Assignment by Adam Brouwer to Geurt Servaessen of his claim on the West India Company

[141a] Before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Adam Brouwer, from Ceulen, a soldier (sailed Ao. 1641 in the ship Swol to Brazil for the chamber of Amsterdam; his supercargo was Willem de Haes), who in the presence of the undersigned witnesses assigns and transfers in full and free ownership to Guert Servaesz, living in Amsterdam in Papenbrugh alley, his wages earned in the service of the honorable directors of the West India Company, chamber of Amsterdam, at Marinhan, amounting to the sum of one hundred and eighty-nine guilders, which said sum of one hundred eighty-nine guilders he requests the honorable directors to be pleased to pay to the aforesaid Geurt Servaesz at Amsterdam. The said sum having been paid, he, Adam Brouwer, frees the honorable gentlemen from all demands hereafter to be made on that account by himself or any of his heirs.

Done in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland, the 21st of February 1645.

Power of attorney from Adam Brouwer to Geurt Servaessen to collect wages due from the West India Company

[141b] Before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Adam Brouwer, from Ceulen, a soldier (sailed Ao. 1641 in the ship Swol to Brazil for the chamber of Amsterdam), who appoints and empowers, as he does hereby, Geurt Servasz, at Amsterdam, [residing] in Papenbrigh alley, in "The Whalebone," to demand and collect in his name from the honorable directors of the General Chartered West India Company, chamber at Amsterdam, all such sums of money as are still due to him, Adam Brouwer, by their honors [and were] earned in Brazil, where he received no settlement, having been ordered to proceed to Marinham. On payment of said money by the honorable directors, the aforesaid Geurt Servaesz may [in token] of the receipt execute a discharge, which shall be valid, the principal promising to hold valid whatever shall be done in the matter aforesaid by the attorney. The original hereof in the record is signed by Adam Brouwer and the witnesses hereto invited, the 21st of February 1645, in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland.

[149j] Before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Adam Brouwer, from Cologne, a soldier who sailed for the Chamber of Amsterdam to Brazil in the year 1641, in the ship Swol, of which ship Willem de Haes was merchant, and who in the presence of the undersigned witnesses appoints and empowers, as he does hereby, Mr. Govert Loockermans, merchant on the ship De Jager, to demand and collect and receive from the honorable directors of the General
Chartered West India Company one hundred and eighty-nine guilders, earned by him, Adam Brouwer, of their honors at Fort St. Louis de Merinhan, as appears by the account annexed; on payment of which sum by the honorable directors to the above mentioned Loockmans, he is empowered to give a receipt therefore which shall avail. He, the principal, promises to hold and cause to be held valid whatever shall be done in the matter by his attorney. Done in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland, the 21st of September 1646. The original record hereof was signed by Adam Brouwer and by Adriaen van Tienhoven and Gysbert Opdyc as witnesses.

Contract of sale from Hendrick Jansen to Adam Brouwer of a house and garden on Manhattan Island

[141c] On this day, date underwritten, Hendrick Jansen from Jeveren, locksmith, and Adam Brouwer have in love and friendship, in the presence of the witnesses hereto invited, agreed and contracted about the purchase of a certain house and lot for a garden situated on the island of Manhatans, formerly occupied by Jeuriaen Roodolf. Hendrick Jansen from Jeveren sells the aforesaid house and lot to Adam Brouwer above mentioned, who also acknowledges that he has bought the same, with all that is fastened by earth and nail, in true and full ownership, on which house and garden Adam shall pay within three months from date twenty-five guilders, which shall be the last payment. In witness and token of the truth this is signed by the parties and the witnesses hereto invited, in Fort Amsterdam in New Netherland, the 21st of February 1645.

Page 421 - Letters of administration upon the estate of ADAM BREWER, late of the town of Brooklyn, are granted by Governor Benjamin Fletcher, to his widow, Magdalena Brewer, April 15, 1693.

Page 422 - ADAM BREWER. "In the name of God Amen. Whereas I, Adam Brewer, Berkhoon, inhabitant of ye Towne of Brooklandt, being at present sick, but fully having my knowledge and understanding.? ?I desire that none of my children shall trouble or move their mother during her life." "I leave to my eldest son Peter, 3 shillings by reason that he has been disobedient to his father. And also Jacob Brewer and Altie Brewer for reason of their disobedience shall not receive a penney from their father Adam Brewer," but their portions are left to their children. The other 7 children, Mathys, William, Adam, Abraham, Anna, Sarah, and Rachel shall have an equal share in the estate. Leaves to Adolphus the son of William, 3 pieces of 8. To Magdalena, daughter of Peter, 1 piece of 8, and to his daughter Vrentie 1 piece of 8." This is that which ye Testator Adam Brewer as his last will and testament, he hath signed and sealed the same with his own hand," January 22, 1691/2. Makes Barent Van Flentburg and Win. Conrad Davis Jones

NEWARK: A funeral service for Conrad D. Jones, 75, of Newark, will be held 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH with Pastor James Overton officiating.

Mr. Jones passed away on April 3, 2011 at Newark Healthcare Center. He was born on July 26, 1935 in Clintonville, WV to the late Pearl and Beulah Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Dorothy (Haynes) Jones; sons, Jeff (Jennifer) and Harry Jones; step-children, Sandy (Logan) Brown and Tom (Lynette) Greer; 11 grandchildren, Zach, Devon, Brandon, Carol, Amanda, Logan Jr., Jordan, Sarah, Josh, Jacob and Lauryn; four great-grandchildren, Lanie, Brittany, Carly and Shawn; brothers, Kay, Kenus and Carlus; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; he is preceded in death by his sister; and brother, Sis and John.

Mr. Jones was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum after 34 years and was owner of Premium Painting. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching cowboy movies.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home.

STUARTS DRAFT - Mason Lane of Stuarts Draft, 26, of Stuarts Draft went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

He was born November 25, 1992 in Charlottesville to Bradley Mason Lane and Jennifer Lee Hughes.

Mason graduated from Stuarts Draft High School. He loved spending time with his son and friends.

He had a passion for the Sheriff's department and campaigning for Donald Smith. He enjoyed making others laugh, physical fitness, and cheering for the San Francisco 49ers. Those who knew Mason, even just shortly, lost a shining light in their lives. He was a beloved father, son, brother and friend to anyone he met. Though we will miss him dearly, his joyful laugh and his charismatic spirit will stay with us until we meet again.

"It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For a part of us went with you, the day God called you home".

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Bridge Christian Church, 1275 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, VA 22939 conducted by Pastor Stacy Burkholder. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers are, Bob Lane, Chris Fretwell, Lucas Lane, Brian Welcher, Travis Hunter, Charles Andrews, Betsy Bolton and Corey Loan. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Augusta County Sheriff's Department.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, George "Buddy" Bolton and Bobby Darrell Lane, Sr. great uncle, William B. Bolton.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his step-father, Thomas Lee Hughes; Son, Jett Mason Lane; Siblings, Amber Loan and husband, Corey, Lucas Lane and wife, Taylor and step-brothers, Hunter and Morgan Hughes; nephews, Levi Loan, Samuel Loan, nieces, Adeline Lane, Ainsley Lane, aunts, Shannon Surratt, Lynn Aleshire and a special aunt, Betsy Bolton; uncles, Quinn Aleshire and Bob Lane, mother of his child, Edna Lane; grandmothers, Linda D. Bolton, Linda Page and Kendall Lane.

STAUNTON - Everette Earl Brannon, 86, husband of Lional Belle (Morrison) Brannon of 34 Briarwood Circle, Staunton, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Augusta Medical Center. He was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Cass, W.Va., a son of the late Harley S. and Lula Belle (Sams) Brannon.

Mr. Brannon was a veteran of the U.S. Army; he served during World War II.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by C&O Railroad as a track inspector.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a life member of Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Marcy Brannon of York Haven, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane B. and Robert B. Jenkins of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two brothers, Harley and Sidney Brannon; three grandchildren, Bruce Brannon Jenkins, Bryan Scott Jenkins and Bridget Earlene Collins; a great-grandchild, Caleb Michael Collins; and two stepgrandchildren, Stacia Marie and Tyler William Richards.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2008, in Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleums and Memory Gardens, with military rites by Staunton VFW Post 2216.

Active pallbearers will be John Hartless, Rick Ellinger, Pat Flavin, Donnie Miller, Danny Sheets, Bruce Jenkins, Butch Losh and Adam Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Henry Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
