He is also survived by his sister, Thelma Johnson of Stephens City. He has four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters, Frank Johnson, Chad McDonald and Dustin McDonald all of Winchester, Ethan Johnson of Mountain Falls, and Kelsey Johnson and Lacey Hoover of Stephens City. He was predeceased by a sister, Opal Blanchfield and brother, Thomas E. Johnson. He retired from Stephens City Lime Kiln and was the owner of Johnson's Shoe Repair. Lawrence's love of the outdoors was apparent in his life. He was a founding member of the Opequon Saddle Club and Opequon Rodeo. Hunting and gardening was another love. You could always find Lawrence making something in his shop. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Stephens City, with Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock.
