Jennings Michael Hunter, 20, left this world suddenly on Tuesday, May 29, 2007.
He was born Jan. 5, 1987. He left behind his beloved family and many loving friends. Jennings' father and mother, Mike and Libby Hunter, reside in Crawley. His bereaved paternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Hunter, also live in Crawley. His brother, Robbie, and his wife, Rachel, and their three children, Jordan, Kohle and Jaxe, live in Beavercreek, Ohio. His sister, Lisa Holliday, and her husband Jimmy, live with their two daughters, Katelynn and Emily, in Smoot. His sister, Jesse, lives in Crawley. Her fiance, Jason Davis, resides in Smoot. Jennings is missed by his loving uncles, aunts, cousins and too many friends to name.
Jennings graduated from Greenbrier West High School in 2005 where he played football and baseball. He especially loved football and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan. Jennings was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. He was a true outdoorsman.
Jennings had an opportunity to go to Marshall University to study environmental science. Since he cannot fulfill this dream, the family has established a memorial fund for an annual scholarship to be awarded to a Greenbrier West student who has a love for the outdoors, and West Virginia, and would like to pursue a career in environmental science.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the Jennings Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund at Summit Community Bank, U.S. Route 60, Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV 25984.
Services will be noon today at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Glen Kuhns officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery, Keiffer.
Friends may call 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
