Shawsville Items.
Shawsville, Va., June 7.-The many friends of Mr. Philip Showalter will learn with regret the sad news of his death, which occurred last Friday. Mr. Showalter was in his 89th year. He is an old resident of near Alleghany Springs. Besides a host of friends and relatives he leaves to mourn their loss three sons, and two daughters, as follows: Mr. J. E. Showalter, of Shawsville; Mr. W. T. Showalter, of Otey, and Mr. Bud Showalter, of the west; Mrs. J. W. Hensley, and Mrs. E. T. Dooley, both of Alleghany Springs. Enterment was made in the old family burying grounds near Piedmont church.
