Teacher Killed In 2-Car Wreck
FRANKFORT - A 27-year-old junior high school teacher was killed in a two-car collision on U.S. 219 near this Greenbrier County town Friday night, state police said.
The victim was identified as Glen Edward Williams of Frankfort. Troopers said Williams was driving a southbound car that collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Robert Lee Martin Jr., 44. of Lewisburg.
Williams' wife, Rebecca, was injured seriously in the accident and taken to Greenbrier Valley Hospital. Martin and two passengers in his car, Cathy Lynn Sturgell, 15, and Sherry Lynn Martin, 8, escaped serious injury.
Police said Martin was charged with vehicular homicide and cited for passing in the face of oncoming traffic in connection with the wreck. He was lodged in Greenbrier County jail Friday night before posting $1,000 bond Saturday following a hearing before Magistrate John Sibold of Lewisburg.
The accident remained under investigation Saturday by Trooper J.W. Childers and Greenbrier County Sheriff's Dep. Fred Morgan.
Williams was a native of Greenbrier County, and a former resident of White Sulphur Springs. He was a teacher Renick Junior High School, and was employed for the summer as a teacher at Anthony Correctional Center at Neola. A graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College, Williams was a member of the Greenbrier County Classroom Teachers Assn., the West Virginia Education Assn.. the National Education Assn., the Sigma Delta Nu Fraternity, and the Lewisburg Chapter of the Isaac Walton League.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his father, Lester Williams of White Sulphur Springs; stepmother, Mrs. Aleene Williams of White Sulphur Springs; brothers, Carl of White Sulphur Springs, Kenneth of Mount Airy, N.C., Robert of Pulaski, Va., Thomas of Spanishburg; sisters, Mrs. Donnalee Fury and Miss Thelma Williams, both of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Bonnie Foley of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Marie Maupin of Tacoma Park, Md.
The body is at Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete for Glen Edward Williams, 27, Frankford, who died in an automobile accident Friday night on U. S. 219 Frankford.
He was a former resident of White Sulphur Springs, and was born Oct. 28, 1946 at Alvon, a son of Lester Williams, White Sulphur Springs, and the late Lula Henson Williams.
He was a member of the National Education Association, West Virginia Education Associaton, Greenbrier County Teachers' Association, Lewisburg Chapter, Izaak Walton League of America, a graduate of White Sulphur Springs High School and a of graduate of Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, where he was a member of the Sigma Delta Nu Fraternity.
He was a teacher at Renick Junior High School, Renick, and was employed during the summer as a teacher at the Anthony Correction Center, Neola.
Other survivors include his wife, Rebecca White Williams; his stepmother, Mrs. Aleen Williams, White Sulphur Springs; four brothers, Carl, White Sulphur Springs, Kenneth, Mt. Airy, N. C., Robert, Pulaski, Va., and Thomas, Spanishburg; four sisters, Mrs. Donnalee Fury, and Miss Thelma Williams, both of White Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Bonnie Foley, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Marie Maupin, Tacoma Park, Md.
