Mrs. Crookshanks Dies In Hospital
RONCEVERTE (RNS) - Georgia Goldie Crookshanks, 67, of Ronceverte died Monday in a Maryland hospital after a short illness.
Born Nov. 22, 1903, she was daughter of the late William Luther and Sahara Margaret Martin Smith.
She was a lifelong resident of Greenbrier County and a member of Cold Spring United Methodist Church of Cornstalk.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin of Ronceverte; three daughters, Mrs. Stella Smith of North Carolina, Mrs. Cleo Smiles of Wisconsin and Mrs. Louise Waid of Abington, Md., four sons, Kenneth and Willy, both of Abington, Md., Everett of Convington, Va., and Ralph of Clintonville; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Mullens of Ronceverte; four half sisters, Mrs. Lovie Shorter of Covington, Mrs. Mamie Hughart of McRoss, Mrs. Mable Adams of Rising Sun, Md., and Mrs. Berie Stull of Hominy Falls; three half brothers, Eugene of Ronceverte and Oakley of Durham, N. C., and Kessler of Hines; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-granchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisburg with Rev. Leroy Crane in charge. Burial will be Wallace Memorial Cemetery.

Georgia Goldie Crookshanks, 67, wife of Kenneth Franklin Crookshanks, of 911 Greenbrier Ave., Ronceverte, W. Va., died on Monday, Oct. 11, at Harford Memorial Hospital. Born in Bruce, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Martin Smith. Mrs. Crookshanks was taken ill while visiting her family in Harford county.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Everette of Covington, Va., Willie of Edgewood, Kenneth of Abingdon, and Ralph of Clintonville, W. Va.; three daughters, Stella Smith of Charlotte, N.C., Cleo Smalles of Beloit, Wis., and Louise Waid of Abingdon; two brothers, Oakley Crookshanks of Durham, N.C., and Eugene Crookshanks of Ronceverte, W. Va.; four sisters, Gladys Mullins of Ronceverte, Mamie Hughert of McRoss, W. Va., Lovie Shorter of Covington, Va., and Mabel Adams of Rising Sun; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, W. Va., with interment in the End of the Trail Cemetery in Clintonville, W. Va.
McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon had charge of the local arrangements.
