On Sunday, September 6, 2015, our most cherished Harry Dale Crookshanks III, of Rainelle, passed away at CAMC following a short illness. He was 34 years old. Harry was born on September 24, 1980 in Fairlea, W.Va. Harry was the son of Harry Dale Crookshanks Jr. and the late Brenda Lee Lafon Crookshanks. Besides his mother, Harry was preceded in death by Verna "Vicki" Nolan LaFon, Bill LaFon, Matthew LaFon, Harry D. Crookshanks Sr., Patricia Crookshanks Leech. In addition to his father,those left to cherish and share his memories the light of his life his son Brendan Lee, his loving sister Holly Dayle and companion Byron Meadows, grandmother Joyce Fay Crookshanks, Aunt Pamela and Uncle Gene Anderson, Uncle Scott Crookshanks, Uncle Billy and Aunt Mary LaFon, and numerous treasured cousins. Harry was a kind generous man that would help anyone who needed it and never expected anything in return because his father taught him to help people because you may never know when you may need help in return. Harry was an amazing father and knew just how to make Brendan feel better and to guide him to learn right from wrong. Harry was a mechanic having worked at Advanced Auto, Greenbrier Bowling Center Center and Strike Market of Pittsburgh, while working at Strike Market he traveled and worked in 45 states. On Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 7 p.m., we will honor the life of Harry with a "Service of Remembrance" at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Adam Sadler will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the service hour. On Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11 a.m., Harry will be laid to rest at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Sam Black Church in Crawley.
