Deaths And Funerals

Arch and Lovie Hanna

RUPERT (RNS) - Joint services for Arch Hanna, 70, and his wife, Lovie Pauline Hanna, 52, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Waters Funeral Chapel at Summersville with the Rev. Lawrence Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery on Ward Road.

The couple died Sunday in a fire at their mobile home in Rupert. Dalton Elmore, fire chief of the Rupert Volunteer Fire Department Station 50, said the department answered the call at 9:15 a.m. at the home located north of Anjean, about five miles from Rupert.

Elmore said firemen stayed on the scene until 2 p.m. The fire is unver under investigation by the state fire marshal's office in Charleston, Elmore said.

Born Nov. 23, 1907, at Canvas, Mr. Hanna was a son of the late Elijah and Rennie Brown Hanna.

Mr. Hanna was a retired coal miner, a member of the United Mine Workers and a World War II veteran.

Born Aug. 21,1925, at Canvass, Mrs. Hanna was a daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen McClung.

Survivors include three sons, Kerry of Nettie and Phillip and Larry, both at home; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Prather of Summersville, and three grandchildren.

Also surviving Mr. Hanna are five brothers, John of Wooster, Ohio, Jesse of Charmco, Jack and Arthur both of Nettie, and Arbor of Summersville, and one sister, Mrs. Zella Pritt of Vancover, Wash.

Mrs. Hanna is also survived by one brother, David McClung, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Ward, both of Canvas.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
