  Charleston Daily Mail, Charleston, WV, Friday, 17 Nov 1972, p.1, col. 2 FALL FROM TRUCK FATAL SUMMERSVILLE - A Canvas, Nicholas County, woman died shortly after midnight near here when she fell from the cab of a moving pickup truck, according to the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department. Mrs. Verna Hanna, 60, reportedly was a passenger in a truck driven by her brother, George McClung, also of Canvas. She fell when the door came open, according to police, and she was dead at the scene when officials arrived. McClung reportedly was being held in the Nicholas County jail while the sheriff's office continued its investigaton [sic]. The body was taken to the White Funeral Home here. Known survivors, in addition to McClung, include her mother, Mrs. Mary McClung of Canvas; daughters, Mrs. Nancy McHutchon of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mrs. Vergie Cartwright of Franklin and several brothers and sisters.
