Laura Kay Walkup Fletcher, 74, of Tampa, FL and formerly of Pearisburg departed this life for her heavenly home March 12, 2015 at her home. Born in Peterstown, WV on March 11, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Tony and Lillian Mills Walkup. She was a devout Christians and was blessed to have been in the Perry Stone Ministries for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Alvin Carr Fletcher, her brothers Lawrence Tony Walkup, Jr. and Billy Marshall Walkup, her sisters Norma Meadows, Jean Maxwell, Bobbie Ann Caldwell and an infant sister Judy Carol Walkup.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son David C. Fletcher of Tampa, FL; her sister Loretta Walkup Howell of Hardy, VA; her brothers Michael W. and Debbie Walkup of Troutville and Danny and Carolyn Walkup of Blue Ridge, and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery on Bagging Plant Road in Dublin at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the services.
