KINSEY, William Roger, Sr., (Bill), 86, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, April 14, 2000 at his home in Roanoke. He was a member of Melrose Baptist Church, having served as a Deacon and was a retired Master Mechanic with the Norfolk & Western Railroad. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #284. For many years, he performed throughout the area with his band "All Star Swing." He is survived by his wife, Lorraine "Bunny" Kinsey; one son and daughter-in-law, William Roger, Jr., and Janet Kinsey of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter, Norma Jean Moatz of Boones Mill; a brother, Woody Kinsey of Kokomo, Ind.; sister-in-law, Ella Mae Dana of Salem; four grandchildren, Jennifer Joiner of Rocky Mount, N.C., Scott Kinsey of Atlanta, Ga., Jeff Kinsey of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kimberly Moatz of Boones Mill; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000 at Melrose Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel.
