Berry, 32, of Canyon, Texas, formerly of Fredericksburg, VA, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2005 after his tractor trailer was struck by a train in Freona Texas. His wife Teresa was accompanying him at the time and has also passed. He had attended Chancellor High School and also had attended Faith Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Joshua Robert Berry and Destiny Nicole Berry both of Richmond; Michael Bucksley Berry of Charleston, WV; his father, Robert D. Berry of Carlisle, PA and his mother, Helen M. Wagner of Partlow, VA; one sister, Robin Marie Balderson of Prince, WV; two brothers, Jerry Christopher Berry of Spotsylvania County, VA; Jonathan Robert Berry of Stafford County, VA; his maternal grandfather, Curtis Robert Richmond of Meadow Bridge, WV; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA with Rev. Don Forrester officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jerry Berry, Jonathan Berry, Kenneth Payne, II, Bart Balderson, Mike Eastridge and Chris Eastridge. Charles Curtis Berry, 32, was driving a 2005 Peterbilt truck northbound on a private road about two miles west of town when the eastbound train's engine collided with the driver's side about 3:25 p.m. Friday, reports show. Berry and his passenger, Teresa McBride, 39, died on impact. The pair was returning from dropping off the truck's trailer at a nearby truck wash facility, according to DPS. The railroad crossing has no signal. The train's engineer was not injured. None of the train's cars were derailed by the impact, and authorities cleared the accident scene Friday night.
