by Matthew Hill
A single-vehicle accident near Bellwood in Fayette County claimed the life of a Meadow Bridge man Sunday morning.
According to Fayette County Sheriff Bill Laird, the accident occurred on W.Va. 20 about 9:30 a.m. Preliminary investigation indicates that James A. Richmond, 51, was traveling north on 20 when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and traveled over an embankment.
Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Rainelle firefighters and Quinwood ambulance personnel. The accident remains under investigation by Deputy S.L. Campbell.
