Jackie K. Staats, 70, of Tornado died May 19, 2004, in Thomas Memorial Hospital. He was a retired meat cutter from Ellis' Foodland. He was a Mason and a Korean War Army veteran. Jackie was a 1952 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and attended W. Va. State College. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Otto & Katherine Anderson Staats; his first wife, Carol L. Carr Staats, his son, David M. Staats and his stepson, William F. Haynes. Surviving: wife, Ruth P. Staats of Tornado; sons and wives, Kenneth W. and Sue A. Staats of Columbus, Ohio, Michael and Toni Staats of Dunbar, Charles and Rhonda Haynes of Charleston, David L. & Deborah K. Haynes of Sissonville; daughters & husbands, Debbie and Lane Ferguson of Hurricane, Christene and Phillip Gibson of Winfield, Deborah L. Haynes of Charleston; granddaughters, Jillian Staats of Columbus, Ohio, Brooke Staats of St. Albans, Jessica and Kristin Ferguson of Hurricane, Melanie Walker of California, Rachel Haynes of Sissonville, Melissa Stricker and her fiance, Jack Montgomery, of Charleston, Michelle Gibson of Charleston; grandsons, Micheal Staats of St. Albans, Cory Staats of Dunbar, Charles W. Haynes and wife, Ellen, of New York, Nicholas Haynes of Charleston, Gabriel Haynes of Charleston, Dustin Haynes of Sissonville, Phillip Gibson of Charleston; great-grandchildren, Ryan Haynes and Hunter Montgomery, both of Charleston.
