Renick - Clara E. Simmons, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.
She was born June 16, 1913, at Spring Creek, Greenbrier County, the daughter of the late Wade Lewis and Sarah Florence Morrison.
Mrs. Simmons was a homemake and a member of the Renick Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Simmons; daughter, Nancy Loudermilk; half sister, Ada McCoy; and half brother, Shelby Lewis.
Survivors include: son, Gene Simmons and wife, Linda of Hillsboro; sister, Mary Lester of Renick; seven half sisters, Hallie Hollandsworth, Jane Hull, Hilda Fitzwater, Mazie Lewis, Lionel Brannon, Bessie Copenhaver and Hazel Shafer; grandchildren, Melissa Burns and husband, John and John's children, Kendra and John Burns all of Lewisburg, Teresa Lavalley of Texas, Jennifer Conkey of South Carolina, David Loudermilk of Maxwelton, Amy Widney of St. Louis, MO, David Simmons and wife, Kimberly of Snowshoe, Dustin Simmons of Hillsboro and his fiancee, Devan Moore of Reedsville, NC, and Daniel Simmons of Charles Town; great-grandchildren, Michelle Ramsey, Misty Dawn Brewer, and Tyler Conkey; and great-great-grandchildren, Alex and Courtney.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28 at the Renick Baptist Church in Renick.
Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.
