Gerald Fredrick "Fred" Geer, 79, of Leeper passed away in the early morning of Monday, Oct. 6, 2014. Born Oct. 11, 1934, in Knoxdale, he was the son of the late Gerald William and Dorothy Amelia Wolfe Geer.
On July 7, 1970, he married Beulah Arlene "Boots" Boggs, who died May 7, 2011.
He served in the United States Air Force from March 1952 to February 1956, earning the Korean Service Medal and the U.N. Service Medal. He was a local mechanic for most of his life and also a state park ranger, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Delores (Deet) Eshbaugh and a grandson, Brandon Sheffer.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Brookville at Jefferson and Pickering Street. The Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice Program.
