NETTIE '97 Glen Allen McClung, 57, of Nettie, formerly of Rupert, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at his home following a long battle with cancer.
Born March 4, 1955, in Rainelle, he was the son of Harold Glen McClung of Big Mountain and Mary Helen Blankenship of Crawley.
Glen was a miner with Greenbrier Smokeless Coal Company. He attended Victory Chapel of Leivasy.
He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Dallas Elmore and Clyde Blenden; a niece Michelle Goins, and a really special friend, Paul Belcher and Kelcie Strader.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving fiancée, Pauline Riffle of Nettie; one daughter, Kimberly and Jamie Nichols of Rainelle; three sons, Brian McClung of Rupert, Doodle and Bridgett McClung of Rupert, Michael and Kim McClung of Lewisburg; six sisters, Shelby Goins, Debbie Elmore, Creta and Jim Meadows, Cathy Blenden, Crystal and David Deitz, and Melody and Bill Garner; a brother Kirby and George Ann Blankenship, and six grandchildren, Alex, Taylor, Ashtyn, Raven, Remington and Mahaley; Special stepchildren, Thelma and Kenny Baldwin of Maryland, and Randall and Mindy Riffle of Nettie, and Trelvie Riffle of Craigsville; and stepgrandchildren, Austin and Alisha Riffle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at the Wallace & Wallace chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Bradley Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Nettie.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
