CRAWLEY, WV - Jonathan Nathaniel "Jon" Deitz, of Kieffer Road, was born on January 27, 1984, and was granted his angel wings on August 24, 2014. Jon's life seemed way too short, but those who were loved by him, understood that the quality of his life far exceeded the quantity of time that he was with us here on earth. He was always smiling, loved everyone, and showed us how to love to the fullest. Jon enjoyed many things in his short life. He loved to fish, dig in his sand box, music, and just being outside, but most of all, he loved sitting on his Dad's lap. Jon had a passion for tractors, trucks, trains, and any kind of heavy equipment. He delighted in playing, laughing, and picking with his loved ones.
Jon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph E. and Eileen E. Deitz, his uncle Glen McClung, and a cousin Michelle Goins.
Those left to cherish his memory are: His parents, Joseph D. and Crystal D. McClung Deitz of Kieffer, WV; His big brother: Christopher D. Deitz & wife Krystal, and their son Zach of Grassy Meadows, WV; Half-sisters: Teresa Deitz, Renee Tasker (Matt) both of Rupert, WV and Lisa Bowyer (Gary) of Frankford, WV; Half-brother: Joe Deitz of Chicago, Illinois; Maternal grandparents: Harold "Red" McClung of Rupert and Mary "Helen" Blankenship of Crawley, WV; Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be at 2PM, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, Kieffer, with Rev. Bennie Kenney officiating. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery, Kieffer.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, Friday evening at the church. Pallbearers will be Jessie Sams, Mike R. Hunter, Ryan Whitt, Barry Legg, Gregory Vandall, and Mike Hunter. The family would like to extend thanks to several special people in Jon's life, his sister-in-law and best friend, Krystal Deitz, his brother Christopher, and their son Zach, for the love, care and attention always given to him. Also special thanks to Cassie Rudd, Lisa and Greg Vandall, and Barry and Carol Legg for all their care and support.
