W. S. Scott Sr. Dies In Richwood
RICHWOOD, Oct. 22, (RNS)- Walter Scott Smith Sr., 65, of Richwood, died Sunday in a Richwood hospital after a long illness.
He was owner of the New Life Dry Cleaners in Richwood but was retired.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richwood, Richwood Lodge No. 122, A.F. and A.M., Richwood Chapter No. 36, Royal Arch Masons, and Yew Pine Chapter No. 65, Order of Easter Star.
Surviving are his widow, Zora; six sons, Walter Scott Smith Jr., James Ralph, and Raymond, Richwood, Alfred, McClenny, Fla., Robert, Charleston, and Edward, Walterboro, S. C.; five daughters, Mrs. Frances Hinkle, Miami, Fla., Mrs. Mildred Young, Covington, Va., Mrs. Clarise Gainer and Miss Ruth Smith, Richwood, and Mrs. Josephine Zlusio, Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Henry Smith, Forest Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Kinton, and Mrs. Pansy Seldomridge, Hinton. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Richwood by the Rev. L. E. Power, the Rev. Fred Oxendale, and the Rev. Jay Holiday. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery, Richwood.
The body is at the Simons Funeral Home in Richwood and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the rites.
