VICTOR — Don Wallace Walkup, 86, of Walkup Hollow, Victor, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his residence, following a long illness.
Don was born November 18, 1924, in Victor. He was the son of the late Don V. and Vessie Crist Walkup. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
He was a World War II, U.S. Navy Veteran, a lifetime member of Ansted VFW, retired from Alloy and a member of Mt. Eary United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Ella Kincaid Walkup; a daughter, Kathy Smith; two sons, George Walkup and his wife Beverly and Edward Walkup, all of Victor; a sister, Flo Pauley of Ansted; grandchildren, Donald and Becky Walkup of Victor, Jonathan Walkup of Mt. Hope, Hollie Adkins and James of Jamestown, Ohio, Tracy Walkup of Rock Hill, S.C., Aaron Walkup and Renee of Vero Beach, Fla., Stephanie and Randall McGraw of Victor, Brian and Kelly Smith of Ansted, Heather Fewless and Missy Fewless of Ohio, and a special care giver, Jackie Carnifax.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Liberty Baptist Church in Ramsey, with Pastor Danny Legg officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery, with Military rites.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Ansted.
