  Beckley Register-Herald, Beckley, WV, Online Edition, Friday, 18 Jul 2008 PETERSTOWN — Joseph A. Black, 69, of Peterstown, formerly of Lewisburg, died July 16, 2008, at Peterstown after an extended illness. Born April 7, 1939, in Ronceverte, he was the son of the late Hollister A. Black and Myrtle Witt Black. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Rae Alexander. Joe served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard. He worked as a night clerk in the hotel industry and as a stockbroker. Graveside service will be conducted at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville on Saturday at 11 a.m. by Pastor Larry Walker. There will be no evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, Joe's request was to have donations of sympathy made to the Sam Black United Methodist Church, which his great-grandfather, Samuel Black, founded.
