Judith "Judy" Ann Matzke, 52, of Rainelle, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at her daughter's home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born Oct. 7, 1956, at Clearco, she was the daughter of Galen Williams of Rainelle and the late Marie McClung Williams.
Judy worked as a corrections officer in Beckley and in Florida, where she was later a manager of a Winn Dixie. After returning to West Virginia, she worked as an assistant manager at the Rainelle Subway.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerri Hendricks, and a brother, David McClung.
In addition to her stepfather, Galen Williams, survivors include her daughter, Missy Copen and husband Ricky of Rainelle; a sister, Sandy Mastrovito; five brothers, Richard Williams, Michael, Gary, John, and Richard Mitchell; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Cheyenne, Mikal, and Savannah.
As per her request, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the McRoss Baptist Church, with Pastor Bennie Kenney officiating.
Friends may start calling an hour before the service at the church.
