Born August, 11, 1922, at Jettsville in Greenbrier County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Dessie Gwinn Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ballard Woodrow Counts, a daughter, Geraldine Counts, a son, Donald Counts, one sister, Arbana Stanley, and two brothers, Alvin and Harold Murphy. Virginia was a member of Sam Black United Methodist Church. She was a retired CNA, who had worked at Greenbrier Manor, and was a homemaker. Those left to cherish her memory are: 1 daughter: Carolyn Browning (Russ) of Dawson, WV 1 son: Glen Counts (Sue) of Nettie, WV 2 sisters: Helen Yeager of Summersville, WV Rosalie Judy of Hernshaw, WV 1 brother: James Murphy of Clay, WV 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild Services will be Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM, at Wallace & Wallace Chapel in Rainelle, with Pastor Kerry Workman officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
