  The Daily Chronicle, Centralia, WA, Wednesday, 30 November 1966, p. 4, c. G Shortridge Death Told Sherman Lee Shortridge, 48, a Randle logger, died Tuesday in a veterans hospital at American Lake after a long illness. He was born April 14, 1918, in Grundy, Va. and had lived in Randle since 1940. He was an infantryman In the Army during World War II. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Arlena Shortridge; two sons, Sherman Harold Shortridge and Charles Edward Shortridge, both at home, four daughters, Mrs. Roger (Shirley) Lewis, Kodiak, Alaska; Mrs. Larry (Carol) McBride, Cannon Beach, Ore.; Mrs. Leroy (Mary Ann) Ruckwood, Brookings, Ore., and Miss Patricia Shortridge, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Shortridge of Crawley, W.Va., six grandchildren, three brothers, Burley Shortridge, Orlando, Fla.; Albert Shortridge, Rupert, W.Va., and Harvey Shortridge, Crawley, and three sisters, Mrs. Goldie White, Glenoma; Mrs. Maxine Walkup, Crawley, and Mrs. Alice Franzello, White Marsh, Md. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 .p.m. at the Baptist Community church at Randle. Rev. Raymond L. Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainey Valley cemetery near Randle. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sticklin Funeral Home in Chehalis.
