Bennie Franklin Justice, 90, of N. Mount Joy Street, Elizabethtown, died Wednesday May 20, 2009. He was the loving husband of Hilda Amanda Weese Justice and they celebrated 69 years of marriage October 28, 2008.
Born in Ironton, Ohio, a son of the late John Wesley and Parma McClung Justice, Bennie proudly served in the US Army and was discharged as a corporal from the 3rd Troop Carrier Group and later served in the Air Force. He had been employed at the Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown, for over 32 years as a guidance systems technician and then worked for five years at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA. Mr. Justice was a part-time Elizabethtown Borough Police Officer in his younger years as well.
He was a member of Mount Calvary Church, Elizabethtown, and a life member of the Elizabethtown Friendship Fire and Hose Co. #1 and the Rheems Fire Company. At one time, he drove a school bus, worked at Hershey Park as a train ride engineer, was a Boy Scout leader for 15 years for Troop 1 Pack 14 and served as a crossing guard. He enjoyed gardening and traveling and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Robert F. (Linda) Justice, York; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, E. Lee Justice, Surfside Beach, SC; two sisters, Betty Coleman, Scarbro, WV, and Feby Mae Jenning, Tulsa, Oklahoma. A son, Charles Lee Justice and two brothers, Wesley and Howard Justice, preceded Bennie in death.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Life Celebration Funeral Service at 12 Noon Tuesday from Mount Calvary Church, 625 Holly Street, Elizabethtown. Interment will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 A.M. until 12 Noon at the church.
