  The Morgantown Post, Morgantown, WV, 28 May 1958 Miner Killed in Fayette Mine Mishap FAYETTEVILLE, W. Va. (UPI) — A 35-year-old Fayette County coal miner was crushed to death Tuesday in a slate fall at the Ames Mining Co. operation near here. The dead man was identified as Lawrence Bennett of Lookout. No one else was working in that part of the mine but 85 other miners were working in other sections when the accident occurred, a company spokesman said.
