CLENDENIN - John Henry Mace, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005.
He was retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of Clendenin Advent Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Romie Elvin Mace; his wife, Phyllis Ann Mace; a brother, Leroy Mace; an infant sister, Bonnie Jean Mace; and a grandson, Daniel Paul Bird II.
He is survived by his mother, Cuma Elizabeth Osborne Mace; daughters, Catherine O'Shea Cantabery and husband, Rick of Easton, Pa., and Cynthia Jean Bird and husband, Danny "Harley" Bird, of Clendenin; sisters, Linda Hipes of Greenville, Va., and June Gladwell of Sandusky, Ohio; grandchildren, Emily Mullins, Molley Bird, John and Abby Cantabery; and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harley Mullins.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Matics Funeral Home, 124 First Ave., Clendenin, with Pastor Nahum Balser officiating.
Friends may call one hour before service Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice Care, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
Interment and graveside service will be Saturday at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
