Osborne Funeral Set On Thursday
CHARMCO, Sept. 12 - John Solomon Osborne, 66, of Charmco, and an employee of the Johnstown Coal & Coke Company at Crichton, died at 10:30 p.m. last night in the Hinton Hospital, and following an illness of only a few days.
Mr. Osborne was a son of the late George and Mattie Smith Osborne, and was born at Crag, Nov. 20, 1883. His wife is the former Miss Ina Black of Fayette County.
Besides his wife, Mr. Osborne is survived by five daughters, Mrs. L. M. Walkup, Mrs. R. E. Mace, Mrs. Stanley Morris, all of Charmco.; Mrs. Scotty Morton, of Rupert, and Mrs. Walter Wertz, of Charleston; also two sons, John H. Osborne, of Charmco, and Carl Osborne, of Rupert, and seventeen grandchildren.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mary Smith, of Quinnimont; and seven brothers, Adrian Osborne, of Meadow Bluff; Thomas, of Leivasy; Lee, of Duo; Samuel, of Meadow Bridge; Dewey, of Clearco, and Everette and Delbert, both of Crag.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Amwell Baptist Church east of Rupert, with the church pastor, Rev. J. E. Smith, and the Rev. Harry J. Simms, also of Rupert, officiating. Interment will be in The End of the Trail Cemetery.
The body will be removed to the home from Nickell Mortuary tomorrow afternoon.
