Brady Theodore Patterson, 83, of Middlebourne, formerly of Little Sancho, departed this life Monday November 16, 2009 in Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville. He was born August 10, 1926 in Tyler County a son of the late Raymond Edward and Anna Marie Wilson Patterson.
Brady was a retired United States Postal Carrier and a former employee of General Paving, Morgantown. He was a former member of American Legion Post 48, Middlebourne and VFW Post 6327, Sistersville. He was also a former member of the Tyler County Fair Board and Council of Senior Tyler Countians. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II. Brady also was instrumental in the building of the Tyler County Speedway.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Bryson and Rex Patterson. Five sisters; Edna Ash, Helen Hughes, Geneva Freeland, Violet Martin and Clara Lee Baker.
Brady is survived by his wife Nancy Stump Patterson. His only child Cathy Post and her husband Roger of Middlebourne. A brother Roger Patterson, Middlebourne. Two sisters; Ruth McCune, Newell, WV and Flora Woodburn, Bridgeport, WV. Four grandchildren; Jason Reed, Middlebourne, Amanda O, Sumter, SC, Rhonda Bullock, Raleigh, NC and Richie Post, Middlebourne. Three great grandchildren; Journey Wayts, Sardis, OH, Savanna Haught, Raleigh, NC and Jayna O, Sumter, SC.
Friends will be received at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, Thursday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm where services will be held Friday, 2:00 pm with Pastor Conley Wyatt officiating.Military rites will be provided by VFW Post, 6327, Sistersville, VFW Post 4634, New Martinsville, American Legion Post, 67, Sistersville, American Legion Post, 86, Paden City and American Legion Post, 28, New Martinsville. Inurnment will be at a later date.
