RAINELLE ? Lloyd E. Tincher, 86, of Rainelle, on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, went home to be with his Lord, whom he thanked daily for his life and accomplishments, following a short illness, and now his family and friends would like to thank the Lord for him. (Thank you, Jesus.)
Born on Dec. 28, 1918, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Festus and Nannie Sanford Tincher and the stepson of the late Effie Tincher.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Simms, Mildred Simms, Dorothy Hundley, and Beulah Holiday.
Mr. Tincher was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served during World War II. He was a retired builder and a faithful member of the Little Sewell Baptist Church, Rainelle, since July 19, 1947, where he served as a deacon.
Lloyd was a loving husband and was loved dearly by his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Pansy Gillespie Tincher; three sons, Kerry Tincher and wife Margaret of Beckley, Ervin Tincher and wife Carolyn of Beckley, and Allen Tincher of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two daughters, Carol Wills and husband James of Haymarket, Va., and Emma Michelinie and husband Lanny of Beckley; a sister, Clistie Fleshman Gunter of Rainelle; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who were considered to be part of the family.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Smathers Funeral Chapel with Pastors Joe Collins, Bennie Kenney, and Mike Whisman officiating. Burial will follow in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.
Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
