A. A. Andy Kenney, 77, Rainelle, died Saturday evening in a Clifton Forge, Va., hospital after a long illness.
Born in Rainelle, Aug. 16, 1899, he was a son of the late Summers and Mary Osborne Kenney.
He was a member of the Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church, a retired C&O railway engineer and a member of the Brotherhood of Local Firemen and Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Eunice Kenney; two daughters, Mrs. Charles R. Raines, Rainelle, and Mrs. Shelton Smith, Grassy Meadows; three sons, Bennie, Rainelle, Mike, Radford, Va., and Stewart, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Rena Meadows, Richmond, Va., Mrs. Nannie Tincher, Mrs. Verdie Simms, and Mrs. Ida Simms, all of Rainelle; three brothers, Lincoln, Lewisburg, Edgar and Sam, both of Rainelle; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Little Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Smith and James Simms officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle after 4 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral. (RNS)
