NEOLA ? Howard Erman Callison passed away Oct. 7, 2007, at his home in Neola, after a long illness.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1929, in Rainelle, a son of the late Wyatte C. and Ila Skidmore Callison.
Erman was a member of Anthony Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher. He served with the United States Marine Corps and worked at Meadow River Lumber Company in Rainelle, Burlington Ribbon Factory in White Sulphur Springs, Hercules in Covington, Va., and Bath Company Pump Storage Project in Mountain Grove, Va. He was owner and operator of Callison Repair Shop and C&R Pennzoil in White Sulphur Springs and was a millwright with Southwest VA Carpenter and Joiners Union, where he retired.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant children.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marceline Camp Callison; two sons, Michael and his wife, Kathy, and Stephen and his wife, Pam; a daughter, Angela Radford and her husband, Tommy; two grandsons, Ryan Callison and Jeremy Radford; two granddaughters, Hattie Callison and Autumn Radford; a brother, Jim Callison and his wife, Agnes; three sisters, Natalie Childers and her husband, George, Nancy Camp and her husband Lloyd, all of White Sulphur Springs, and Emelie Hinzman and her husband, Hayward, of Lewisburg; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at Greenbrier Valley Baptist Church, one mile north on Rt. 92 in White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Lloyd Camp officiating, being assisted by Jeff Arthur, Jr. Interment will follow at the Alvon Presbyterian Cemetery in Alvon.
Family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. today at the church.
