RUPERT ? Maxine Heaster, 80, of Rupert, formerly of Bellburn, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born April 9, 1927, on Little Sewell in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Lola Scutter Elliott.
Mrs. Heaster loved her role as a homemaker and mother; however, when her late husband, Hubert Heaster, whom she married at the young age of 15, joined the United States Army during World War II, she went to work at a sewing factory, making Army goods. Maxine continued her work at the Rainelle sewing factory, the Pioneer Hotel in Rainelle and for the late Bill Carneal of Rai-nelle. She was an active member of Bellburn United Methodist Church. Her church and church family were a very important part of her life.
Survivors include her three cherished sons, Roger Heaster and wife, Rhonda, of Dawson and Jim Heaster and wife, Faye, and Robert ?Little Bob? Heaster and wife, Darlene, all of Rupert; a brother, Robert ?Bob? Elliott and wife, Shirley, of Rainelle; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and extended and ?adopted? family and friends too numerous to mention.
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Verlin Butcher, the Rev. Denver Tiller and the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
