Miss Ann Nuckols Becomes Bride Of AF Lieutenant In Lewisburg
The Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg was the seting Saturday afternoon for the ceremony which united in marriage Miss Ann Nuckols, and Lt. Douglas Tocado of the U.S. Air Force.
THE BRIDE is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Nuckols, 704 Woodlawn Ave., and he is the son of Mrs. Pansy Tocado of Harper and the late Progresso Tocado. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Stanley, 106 Austin Ave.
Dr. Robert A. Pfrangle, pastor of the church, performed the double-ring ceremony at 4' o'clock. Mrs. Ralph D. Keightley Jr. played traditional wedding music.
THE BRIDE was attired in a white floor-length embroidered eyelet organdy gown designed with long sleeves coming to points at the wrists and a portrait neckline. She wore a crown of organdy orange blossoms from which fell a shoulder-length veil of illusion, and carried a cascade bouquet of white roses and ivy.
AS MAID of honor, her sister, Miss Mary Pat Nuckols, chose a street-length dress of aqua organdy. She wore a matching half-hat of velvet leaves featuring a short circular veil of tulle and carried a nosegay of pink carnations. Miss Paula Tocado, the groom's sister, was bridesmaid, appearing in a pink organdy dress and bandeau of matching silk leaves designed with a brief veil, and she carried a nosegay of deep rose-colored carnations.
LT. MICHAEL Butchko of Moundsviile served as best man and Charles S. Lewis Jr. of Beckley was the usher.
The Crystal Room at The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, was the scene of a reception and buffet supper, and the couple left for Enid, Okla., where he has been assigned to Vance Air Force Base. En route they will spend several days touring The Smoky Mountains and will visit the Air Force-Academy at Colorado Springs.
THE BRIDE attended Beckley schools and was graduated from high school at Fairfax Hall, Waynesboro, Va. in 1957. While there she was appointed a princess for the Mountain State Forest Festival, Elkins. She also attended West Virginia University, Beckley College and Concord College, Athens, where she majored in sociology.
HER HUSBAND, an alumnus of Trap Hill High School, was graduated in June from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs. In addition to a bachelor of science degree he received a major in public policy. While at the Academy, Lt. Tecado received special recognition for his academic achievement by being named to the Dean's List. He was a falcon handler and a member of the AF Debating Team, which won the 1962 Inter-Service Academy Debate Tournament at King's Point, NY.
The couple will establish a home in Enid, after Aug. 23, where he will enter pilot training.
