CRAWLEY - Melvin Lewis Hanna, 79, of Crawley, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Richwood Area Community Hospital following a long illness.
Born Feb. 16, 1928, in Rainelle, he was the son of the late Oran and Bessie Hundley Hanna.
Mr. Hanna worked for Meadow River Lumber Co., the State Road, Wallace Memorial Cemetery and in the coal mines. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Clintonville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marilyn Hanna.
Survivors include his wife, Delci Redden Hanna; a son, Lewis Hanna and wife, Virginia, of Jasper, Ga.; a daughter, Rhonda Trout and husband, Warren, of Marfrance; four brothers, Max Hanna and wife, Thelma, of New Mexico, Maynard Hanna and wife, Judith, of Clintonville, Murrell Hanna and wife, Nellie, of Clintonville and Millard Hanna and wife, Shirley, of Ijamsville, Md.; three sisters, Meredith Lee of Little Rock, Ark., Mona Buffington of Rainelle and Marcelle Boggs of Clintonville; four grandsons, James, Roger and Joshua Hanna and Warren Trout; a granddaughter, Tina Midkiff; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, Clintonville, with Evangelist Raymond Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
