  The Charleston Daily Mail, 7 March 1967 ALDERSON - Dexter Lee Highlander, 21, of Alderson, died Sunday of a gunshot wound received at the home of a sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Thompson, who resides here. According to state police, the wound was apparently self-inflicted. Also surviving: mother, Mrs. Glenna Highlander of Alderson; brothers, Rodney of Cleveland, Ohio, and William T. of Alderson. Service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Muddy Creek Mountain Nazarene Church by the Rev. Robert Dailey and the Rev. Charles Arbaugh. Burial will be made in Phillips Cemetery on Muddy Creek Mountain. The body is at Jack K. Wallace Funeral Chapel here.
