MEADOW BRIDGE - Gertrude Irene Gwinn, 82, of Meadow Bridge, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2002, following a long illness.
Born July 4, 1919, at Meadow Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Ger-trude Walkup Griffin.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of Meadow Bridge High School.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William Griffin.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James Aubrey Gwinn of Meadow Bridge; two sons, James Monroe Gwinn and wife Mary of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Robert "Bobby" Gwinn and wife Kathy of Miamisburg, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Ina Griffin of Meadow Bridge; four grandchildren, Becky Johnstone and husband Jim of Colorado Springs, Colo., Debbie Cummins and husband Mark of Germantown, Ohio, Larry Gwinn and wife Julia of Mesa, Ariz., and Robynn Oren and husband Tim of Miamisburg, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua and Shawn Gwinn, Ryan and Cody Cummins, Kristin and Daniel Johnstone, Cheyenne, Marissa and Kaelie Oren; and a host of other family and friends.
Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Clay O'Dell officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace and Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Service will conclude with the release of the White Flights.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
