James Parsons Death Victim
James L. Parsons, brother of former Stonewall Jackson and Charleston Catholic football coach Russ Parsons, died Monday evening in a Charleston hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Parsons, 53, of 614 Main St., was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and its Baraca Sunday School class. He was assistant manager of the used car department at Tag Galyean Motors.
Surviving: wife, Herma; daughter, Miss Mary Carolyn of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; son, David, at home; mother, Mrs. Mary Parsons of Charleston; sisters, Mrs. Joe Waters of Clayton, Ala., Mrs. Bruce Jackson of South Charleston, Mrs. Cora Lee Bartley of Petersburg, N. J.; brother, Russ of Parkersburg.
Service will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. in Bartlett Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul B. Watlington and the Rev. Edward Elliott. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park at St. Albans.
The body is at the funeral home.
