The couple was married July 24, 1924, in Tennessee. Mrs. Lilly, the former Miss Gertrude Lilly, is a daughter of the late Richard and Minnie Rollyson Lilly. Her husband is a son of the late Alfred Green and Mary Etta Pack Lilly. The couple has lived in Summers County all their lives and at their present home 26 years. Lilly has worked as mail truck driver for the Post Office Department in Hinton and is now active in farming. They are both members of the Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church. They have seven children, Palmer Lilly of Beckley, Frank Lilly of Fall Rock, Paul Lilly of Jumping Branch, Aubrey Lilly of Baltimore, Md., and Don, Luther, and Alzona Lilly all at home, and eight grandchildren.

  The Charleston Gazette, Online Edition, 15 May 1998 MABSCOTT - David Palmer Lilly, 74, of Mabscott died May 12, 1998, at home after a sudden illness. He was a self-employed carpenter, an Army veteran of World War II and a member and trustee of Mabscott Holiness Church. Surviving: son, David Randolph Lilly of Roanoke; daughter, Judith Wickline of Roanoke; brothers, Frank, Aubrey and Luther Lilly, all of Jumping Branch, Paul Lilly of Oak Hill, Don Lilly of Woodbridge, Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mabscott Holiness Church with the Rev. E.G. "Buz" Keller officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Melton Mortuary, Beckley, is in charge of arrangements.
