Kathleen M. Rader, 78, of Beckley, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, in a Charleston hospital, following a short illness. Born Aug. 27,1923, at Amigo, she was the daughter of the late Lucian and Margaret Douglas Rutledge. Mrs. Rader was a homemaker and had been a resident of Beckley since 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Rader Jr., in 1988; her daughter, Sandra Stewart, in October 2001; and three brothers and sisters. Mrs. Rader was the last surviving member of her brothers and sisters. Survivors include her three daughters, Peggy Mankin and husband, David, of Daniels, Helen Jo Blackburn and husband, Fred Jr., of Beckley and Kate Ayers and husband, George, of Beckley; eight grandchildren, Debbie Wooldridge and Scott Stewart, both of Bradley, Kelly Masters of Davidson, N.C., J.W. Mankin of Daniels, Matt Mankin of MacArthur, Jeff Blackburn of Beckley, Shannon Ayers of Barboursville and Mark Ayers of Beckley; and eight great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Vondie Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
