SUTPHIN, Hobart Ray - 59, of East Rainelle, Greenbrier County, died yesterday in Laird Memorial Hospital at Montgomery after a short illness. He was owner-operator of Meadow Creek Fuel Co. at Prudence, Fayette County. A native of Virginia, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Shawver Sutphin; two sons, Charles of Alexandria, Va., and Darryl, a student at Greenbrier Military School in Lewisburg; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Osborne of Levisay, Mrs. Marcella Staton of Mullens, Mrs. Betty Jo Harrah of Morgantown, and Miss Patsy Ann Sutphin at home; two brothers, Tom of Princeton and McKinley of Oak Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Nolley of Oak Hill and Mrs. Ethel Treadway of Glen Jean; and eight grandchildren. Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Rainelle Methodist Church by Rev. Virgil Gillum and Rev. Lawrence Dorsey. Burial will be in End of the Trail Cemetery at Clintonville. The body is at Nickell mortuary in East Rainelle and will be taken to the home at 5 p.m. today and to the church one hour before the service.
