TURPIN, Lewis Edward - 72, of Beaver, Raleigh County, died Friday in Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley after a long illness. He was a member of First Christian Church at Crow, a veteran of World War I and an employee of the State Road Commission. Surviving are his widow, Dexter, a son, William C. of Topeka, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Hallie Smith of Beckley and Mrs. Mere Painter of Fair Oaks, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Plum of Orlando, Fla.; three half-hrothers, Joe Redden of Bradley, Donald Redden of Crow and Ralph Redden of Alexandria, Va.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home at Beckley.
