  The Charleston Gazette BECKLEY - Helen Elizabeth Phipps, 62, of Beckley died May 4, 1997 at home after a long illness. She was born at Stickney and was a homemaker. Surviving: sons, Larry Dale of Bryon, Calif., Edward Eugene at home; brothers, Jerry and Gary Lucas, both of Malden; sisters, Shirley Bryant and Stella Bryant, both of Malden, Sue Persinger of Pond Gap. There will be no service or visitation. The body was donated to the Human Gift Registry at WVU School of Medicine.
