SOUTH CHARLESTON - Rebecca Lynn Cowley Plantz, 38, formerly of the Seng Creek area of Whitesville, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the home of her parents, Richard and Sue Tabor Cowley of Seng Creek, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Feb. 25, 1965, in Charleston. Mrs. Plantz was a graduate of Sherman High School. She received her BSN degree from WVU and her BA degree from UC. She was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was on the dean's list of WVU Institute of Technology and member of the Statewide Independent Living Council. She was employed with the Workers' Compensation Division of the State of West Virginia. Besides her parents, survivors include her husband, Robert M. Plantz; grandmother, Sylvia Wills Tabor of Arnett; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God, Sylvester, with the Revs. Bartholomew Perry and Jack Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville.
